Gauge: it just works, but it needs more than an LLM

Gauge is a free mobile app for job seekers. You upload your CV and a job description, and it checks how well they match. It writes a report and sends you questions to prepare for the interview. The biggest strength is that the app just works. On the technical side, someone clearly thought about the small details. For example, I was worried about whether my CV gets saved, and one of the first things I found in the app was a notice that explains what happens to your CV and how to remove it. That kind of care builds trust quickly. The report and the prep questions are fine, but they didn't tell me anything new. When I tried the same thing in Claude, I got similar, almost the same, questions and analysis. Right now Gauge feels like a wrapper around an LLM, and even though it's free, I would still just ask Claude. To be worth coming back to, it needs something Claude can't give me. The best way to do that would be integrations with recruitment services: helping people find jobs that match their CV, or sharing real questions from interviews. A general AI chat can't do that, and it would give me a real reason to open Gauge instead.
